Our goal is to put the knowledge and tools in the hands of willing Citizen Scientists to fuel the growth of acquisition of knowledge of the Fungi Kingdom. The Science of Fungi is still a newer form of biology that needs our attention and assistance via the work of Citizen Scientists with documentation and experimentation
Mapping the Fungal Biodiversity in Florida
Florida has long been an odd ball in fungi identification in comparison to the rest of the continental United States, with its own unique array of fungi, one of our primary goals is discovering new overlooked species and clarification on existing species via documentation and in house DNA barcoding by FMS President John Cook with sequence uqvalidation by Scott Ostuni
