December UV Guided Mushroom Walk

Join the Florida Mycological Society for a night time guided mushroom walk, exploring the vibrant and exciting Ultraviolet reactions from fungi, fauna and arthropods! 

Watch the forest glow and see your ecosystem in a new light, literally!

Florida Mycological Society will provide required lighting for visibility and UV reactions. If you bring your own light, please choose a light that is just bright enough to serve you to not dilute the UV lights for the group, red lights are optimal to prevent night time vision loss.

Attendance will be verified at the time of the walk by providing your order confirmation on your mobile device or printed out. 

The UV walk will be held at Spring Hammock Preserve, on December 13th and will run from 5:30-7pm. We will meet at the pavilion to start the walk, before the walk we will overview protocols for safety and mushroom identification and handling UV, during the walk we will collect fungi to observe and ID at the end of the walk to learn about what we found as a group
